Do you guys tint the flexi glass on the Civic Type R?

No. The tint will eventually bubble up cos of the anti mist coating on the plexi glass. (So I was told)

But if you you want to do it. Use a pen to mark the edge on the film otherwise you'll cut into the glass. Its very soft. Heat with extreme caution.

I ended up leaving it, made me feel a bit funny about it but I explained pretty much what you said and they were happy with it.
