I would go to the "plotter" section of this forum, and call peeps from "tint-tek 20/20" "sign warehouse" Film and vinyl design ect" there is even a vieo that "teaches" you a lil something. 
 I'm not trying to be a knucklehead but google is your best friend my friend.!!! Some effort will yield results, but at the same time some dont like to spoon all the info they already searched for. here is a start.

Stick with generic software like Flexi or even Coreldraw. Don't get tied into one manufacturers software. It never ends well.

This is true, computer cut, ect wants you to "marry" their tint and film, where if you choose a plotter, and software of your choice , then you can use whatever darn brand film you want ,and any paint protection film too.I am In the same boat, I am stuck between tint tek, and Film and Vinyl Design,,and still looking at others, I have experience, with vinyl and a little bit of ppp from working at shops in the past

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..
