Removing rear door panels 2015 bmw m5 with window screen?

Recommended Posts

I know on the older ones, after you take off the bolts under the covers, you have to pull really hard to remove the big metal clip/spring that holds it on. I thought I was going to break something, but it did pop off. Don't take it as a given that it's the same, just saying the 2010/11 I did remove was this way.

There's no need to take off any trims or screws for the rear doors. Just start from the side where the quarter window is at and pull up to release the tension on the gasket, then take a panel popper and release the panel clip to relieve tension in order to give you more room. Once done work your way to the other side little by little pulling the panel off the gasket. It's a tight fit but you can pull it out easily.

If you're seeing the metal part with the screen then you're not grasping the panel well enough. If this is the case use your panel popper preferably with the flat spatula looking side to shim it under the metal bar to get leverage to pry it over the gasket.

I just did one of these 2015 M5's today so it's cake.

Hope is helps.
