Prepping the car before dropping it off at the tinters?

I plan on detailing my car before dropping it off and was wondering if there is anything else I should do to the car?

Unless your car is loaded up with dog hair or filled with trash, I would leave it alone until after the job. Maybe give it a quick wash before arrival so the outside is clean for the installer to work on.

Same here. Most of the time if the customer ask if it's in generally good condition I tell them to wait to get it fully cleaned afterwards. That is unless it's completely trashed.

I have a dash cam which I will disconnect before hand how long before reattaching to the front and rear windows? It has the 3m automotive gel like adhesive.

I would go over that with the installer/shop. Me personally I would probably say two weeks to a month depending on weather. May want to ask about warranty also since you ate going to be putting those on there.

Like they said, having the car cleaned is not bad prior but not needed unless the car is just filthy.  I would save the detailing until after the windows are tinted, wait atleast a week to let the film cure..same for reinstalling the camera.  Like JH said, I would let the installer know and then go by the timeline they state.

Thanks. I have learned do do my own detailing which I use a waterless wash for weekly cleaning. So when I said detailing I meant a clean car not a deeply cleaned car.

My first real job was detailing cars. We would go all out and clean everything, apply interior/exterior dressing just for the customer to decide to have the windows tinted afterwards. Next thing you know, we have to go back over everything again because of the slip solution rinsing the dressing off the panels.
