Contract templates

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, I usually read signs101 for vehicle wraps but I discovered tintdude and wanted to check it out. I have a question for you all. As part of my work, I sell vinyl graphics and vehicle wraps. Having spent years in the industry, I have had too many horror stories to count so I have contracts in place for the client to sign, to protect myself. The contracts have cost me hundreds of dollars in attorneys fees which got me thinking: what if a vehicle wrapper could buy a contract template that would protect them from horror stories and ensure that every job goes smoothly?

It would include:

Preliminary works including artwork, intellectual property, test printing fees and colour matching
• 1 year warranty and failures on the client’s part that will void the warranty
• Vinyl information and terms if material is to be supplied by client
• Removal will be re-scheduled if weather conditions are too adverse
• Interruptions and delays during installation
• Fees for changes made after artwork approval
• Staff interruption/abuse during installation
• Clearly defined payment terms and fee information for the client
• Expressed details that identify your rights and liabilities, including items like copyright and cancellation terms
• Client responsibilities before installation
• Fee charged if vehicle is delivered dirty pre-installation
• Vehicle surface and paint work
• Vehicle theft, damage, parking and storage
• Terms and termination, claims, force majeure, indemnification and liability.

The great thing about the template is that you would pay way less than if an attorney drafted it (some charge around $250 per hour), and if you did need to adjust it you wouldn't pay nearly as much as you would getting it drafted from scratch. So what do you guys think of my idea? Would you buy it?
