Dot matrix trim help?

Hey guys I'm a new to TintDude. I'm wondering how should I come at these dot matrix trims. Like at the rear window at the top it be like a bar full of dot matrix. I learned that I could apply the tint as usual and just pill back the top and use glue and it will black out the dots. What about the trim thought? Would I have to do the same for the trim or should I just cut the tint inside the dot matrix trim. Someone please give some advice about the dot matrix trim. Thanks in advance.

I've used it but the best thing I found when I was doing yachts was Sika Glass Primer. Tape off the dots, get a small foam brush and run it in a sis to side motion. Takes less than 10 min. and dries right now. It is permanently adhered to the glass in between the dots, it is lighter than alcohol so it is a one time use because it starts to evaporate as soon as it is open. I get an extra 50 from the customers that don't like the silvering effect at the fritt, then tint up to where the dots start. Less shrinking and a beautiful install. Hope this helps

Beta prime 5504g - cost effective which I use.

Sika brand is fairly expensive (get it from eBay) best price.

We get ours by the case because one of they guys does marine windows. Hope this helps, just follow directions that's all. Do not get it on the interior

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..

      Headlight Taillight Vinyl question... (Looking for CHROME)

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      I can't win with getting tint decent on the windshield. I had 3M on my F150 done twice and still has major defects. Recently did Stratos twice on my F350 and I see this granular spotted, texture pattern on the tint. It's super obvious in the corner here but also right in my view when driving. It's honestly hard to point out and show someone but when your driving and stuff is moving behind the windshield, it becomes more obvious. The lighting also matters. The first time I did the windshield, I had a two foot line on the windshield. Thinking it was tint, they removed the tint and it was apparently a defect in the Ford windshield. An issue between the laminated glass layers caused this big defect. So they removed the tint, I had Ford replace the windshield on a 2024 F350 but when the tint shop removed the tint, they made a bunch of micro scratches in the front windshield, probably from scrapping the glue off. I told them but I didn't care since Ford was replacing the windshield anyways. So if basically I'm trying to figure out what this texture stuff is and if I should have them replace or remove it. Replacing it might just have different issues but also afraid they will scratch the windshield.
