It has been almost 4 yrs since I last logged in...How's everyone been doing?
I have been crazy busy since, which has been a blessing. Each day is a blessing, really.
I've noticed there are more customers joining the forum and asking questions about installs and the film industry. I'm happy to see that bc it gives them insight as well as 1st hand critiques of other installers out there. Nothing bothers me more than a paid customer getting sh*tty installs done....only to say dust and dirt specks "will dry out".
So, what have you guys/gals been up to last 2-3yrs? LOL😀

I'll be tying to (cheat) on this one somehow some way. May shrink on board or half and half flipping pattern. Gonna plot it for sure.

I don't see how the bg can be shrunk without he spoiler being taken off. Might end up melting it if left on. Bottom of the glass has a weird curve to it sorta like a crv.

We heat the top half, then heat the bottom half on the inside of the glass using a mac-tac so it dosent scratch the film.
usually have a few smaller fingers to hit with the heat gun after the install but I think thats a much quicker solution to removing the spoiler or seems.
Here is a video of me shrinking the civic hatch BG.....don't use cheap film!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you can do it in less than 3 mins if you have power tools......

I notice your pic only has the spoiler revoved, but the next poster has an exterior panel removed. Are there Different variations, or were you just able to remove the spoiler taking less apart?
I removed both spoilers, the inside panels and wiper mechanism as well. I didn't take pics of those.
I usually shrink at least 5 at once.....save them for later !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, an easy car to tint.....EXCEPT for that back window.... LOL!!!!
It's doable, but the spoiler(s) will need to be removed, and it's alot to remove too!!!!
I removed both spoilers (top n bottom) for ease of shrinking....I also find it easier to shrink up ( anchor it lower towards the bottom) b/c the curve on top is not as extreme as the curve on the bottom....leave extra tint on top and bottom for pulling.
