Bringing back Lock's thread. This is one of my new favorite artists.
Was that song used to advertise a movie or TV show??
Been playing it a few times now and it sounds very familiar.....

Agreed.. which stinks cause there are so many things that could have been done to really make it pop.

A nitpicking customer cannot give me a hard time as long as I deliver on the job.
Come back in 10 yrs and let us know if that's still true.
Mostly just joshing with ya... but yeah.
Sounds like you have a good foundation to build your business. Do what you love and it makes working a lot more enjoyable.

I feel like I can get 200$ a car, but I don't know if it will scare customers away with me barely opening the doors.
QuoteWhy can't we value our time and skill set. If we all work together instead of trying to undercut each other. We will all be valuable.
The service industry is here to stay and will alway have a demand. DO NOT DEPRECIATE THE SKILL AND DEMAND. I live in Houston and we are short on tinter big time.
1. It is a lot hard to raise your prices then to start off at the level you want to be at.
2. This is a valued skill which not everyone can do. Don't cut yourself short.
3. Your customer base is going to come according to the prices you charge. Want to work on junk, dirty cars owned by people that are going to nitpick your work? Charge low prices. Want to tint newer cars by reasonable people? Charge accordingly.
You will save yourself a ton of headaches by being towards the higher end of the price scale then the lower. All smart business people, in any business, will tell you that. Look at all those joke sites - People of Walmart - and such. Walmart has rock bottom prices.... and look at their customers. Full disclosure - I shop at walmart all the time. But I don't go shopping in my PJs.

Sure... that works too.

I've done it before...
What can I help you with?

Today was spent back at the shop site avoiding reporter calls and messages for further interviews
With the 'news' people so desperate for stories and anything to grab people's attention and clicks... I've often felt that for the most part the people in situations like these do what they can to avoid the calls and stuff...
I guess I was correct?? The last thing I would want to do is talk to the media about it... about anything that would happen to my or my families personal life.
I'm glad things are moving along, and your outlook is one to be admired after such a horrible event.

He's definitely in the mountains... Other direction though.
-
He's closer to me then you....
I don't want to say w/o him being ok with it... which I don't see why he wouldn't, but he could have posted it in the first msg if he was ok with telling everyone.

Wow.... sorry to hear that. But like others have said - very glad no one was hurt.

It's cool hearing the backstories and where everyone came from before tinting.
-
Choice of tint aside, I would agree. I don't watch all his vids... I kindof go thru spurts where I watch a lot of youtube and then none.. back and forth... but he seems pretty smart with his work and side hustles.
-
Your right. I don't believe it.
Good story.

I'm not a fan of adding to pointless posts
But this is... I'm speechless.
Mike just posted a new vlog of his latest mod to his Z06...
(The wrap was for a car show he did... and evidently hasn't removed it. Not a big fan, but for what he wanted it for it made sense to do it like that)
I'm talking about the doors in the photo.

It's an unbelievable story I assure you.

And your story is?

I was walking down the street 16 yrs ago and heard someone go - pssst buddy... wanna learn to tint?!?!?!?
And it's like 'The Family'... once you are in, you're in for life.
Actually... I was doing IT work... that job ended and I couldn't find anything else... needed work so my friend got me into the place he worked. Trained by my friend and others there.... Did that for a couple years then went out on my own.
Much happier tinting then doing IT crap.
Microsoft is like the 3M of the IT world...

Awesome job everyone!!
Congrats to all the winner.

He clearly is the d-bag in this....
What music are you listening to while working?

Yeah I dunno... just been reading the comments on the video. It's in a preview for a movie coming out this fall, which I hadn't seen before. It's also evidently in a video game ad.. someone sung it on one of those talent show things...
I know I've heard it someplace though. Oh well... doesn't really matter.
Glad you posted it though.
