  1. Why would you tell him that early on......? If you would like I can discuss the reasons why on here and other forums I am on as well with many pics of the printed film we received .Nice way to run a business Tom, Great customer service.....NOT.
  2. 3M CC-75. and some 3M Dusted Crystal band with small logos.
  3. Not sure how 3M Distributors would be crying over that, seeing that the price from DF would be higher then from a 3M Distributor,. that is a mute point IMOP. The replacement film sent was fine other then the thin liner and that was not a big deal to me, The film was promised at a time discussed and did not arrive at said time, the job was then pushed off. That did not look good for us, surely you can understand how that would look to the customer Tom. plus a few other issues that I will not post here, I am not trying to bash you or your partner, However if you push me I will push back.
  4. As far as 3M Dealers crying about them selling 3M Deco films and losing money. I think not, the price point was not comparable to what a 3M distributor price would be to a 3M authorized dealer . .Also what film would you consider garden variety garbage............?................. Also I do Not drink Kool-Aide.
  5. Build the product line of 3M, they copied most of 3M Fasara films, they have that now. so you can buy as much as you want, you can sell your customers an inferior product than 3M manufactures. I know you do not care right or wrong you will sell them what they ask for !
  6. No More decorative film either, 3M put the shut down on that.
  7. What, you are not using Correct Spec anymore ......... ?
  8. With an attitude like that, you may find yourself installing some new caulk at No charge.
  9. The frames do not look to bad, I would clean the window as normal, flush the edge with my tank and and then squeegee the window from the edge and to the middle and down and dry the edge with a towel, Install the film and stay away from the edge as in do not let water get to the edge while doing so " up to where the film leaves the glass to the frames edge". trim the film from the bottom up and then use a push out card and then admittedly dry the edge with what ever you use to wick the water from the frame.
  10. Depending on the situation, I would just trim back a small amount to get a nice 90 degree edge and bump the edge strait on with a scraper to remove the fine residue left behind from the caulking to have a decent edge to trim the film against. Some times when trying to remove a small amount of caulking it will pull away from the frame, then you would either have to remove it all and redo the caulking again or make the customer aware of this before hand and let them decide if they would want to pay you to reinstall caulking or just leave it all removed. or just do it for free if you you want to do so. basically just give the customer a heads up on the situation.
  11. Hopefully that issue will be resolved Very Soon, so I can finish this job and Not drive 3 hrs again.
  12. I did a few upgrades on the film handler. added a 72" vertical ruler and a new horizontal tape measure and a cutting guide and also new material to the hold down bar.
  13. I stopped by and checked the job out for them, was the piece of Blue 3M tape I put on the frame still there...............
  14. ...............https://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/625978O/3mtm-impact-protection-adhesive-safety-security-brochure.pdf .............................................. Even Pentagon Protection US uses 3M VHB on their Elite Anchoring Systems.
  15. ..........3M IPA has better performance specs than DOW 995.
  16. Thanks to everyone that responded to this post with their thoughts and tips...........
