Cutting templates - what works

When I am trying to cut film from templates I struggle, what works best to put on the rear of your glasss wall to make template cutting more defined.

Should I just tint the rear in 5% film - would this make it eaier to follow the outline of the template??

all my glass I cut on have Silver 20 on them.

the first guy I worked for 16 years ago used templates, had 'em all organized in old tint tubes. Had 'em catalogued and stuff, but you still had to cut the top edge, so why not just cut the whole window while your there?? It's a time thing to me. Patterns seem like a hassle.

quarter glass windows....vent windows.....use a scrap piece of liner to cut a template. then you don't have to fock with a light to see through the film to the black borders or edges. plus you can double the film up on your peeler and cut both quarters or vents at the same time. that's about the only time I use templates. I never use templates for rollups. templates are nice for vinyling the matrix on back glass's too.
