One easy way to keep customers out of the shop is to stratigically place clear liner sheets on the floor. When they slip and fall you can just point to the sign. "Because of insurance regulations............................" I don't actually do this, but have seen people fall from doing just that.

How about a rope tied to the roof with a cement block tied to it that when you begin the install if the shop door opens it swings down and smashes them in the face ! I bet they stay out then
