Screw the IWFA's 2 inches of contamination from the side and 6" inches from the top. Anyone still judging their work by these guidelines needs to step it up a notch and exceed this. Most of it is in the prep.

VO it sounds like you are on the right path. Keep it up.

Screw 'em... :gasp:DD Welcome and embrace them! :lol They are simply an aid in setting a base line. Be defiant and step it up a notch, but don't screw 'em.

Their (IWFA) standards are set according to feedback from all industry players, including installers... I believe your suggestion of 'step it up a notch' is the reason the present wording was settled upon and also help the installation side by letting the consumer know that there is that possibility of not having a perfect job.

I think the IWFA's standards are more for the commercial aspect of the industry. Just like the warranty, how it is less in commercial then residential, the enviorment(some reason cant seem to spell it) you are working in is less then favorable for tinting conditions, and the IWFA's guidlines help in these instances. Especially when alot of commercial sites have already been tinted and you are doing a R&R job.
