What does an oil change cost you?

So DD-how much to change your oil with Amsoil stuff? :dunno

About $6 a quart. My F150 and vic are on 1 year intervals. My POS Aspire run 10k intervals which I may switch to 12k since my used oil analysis always come back very well.

so all the talk about synthetics and hybrids and highmilage oils is BS then y isnt AIMSOIL BS?

Not all synthetics are BS, but some are. Almost all "hybrids/semi/blends" are BS. High mileage oils are BS.

Royal Purple, Red Line, AMSOIL, and Mobil1 aren't BS synthetics. Well, there's rumors going around that Mobil1 is now a BS synthetic. They may or may not have switched to group III oils. Here's what I mean by that:

Most of the Castrol Syntec line is group III. The 0w30 labelled "Made in Germany" was confirmed as PAO with PAO-based esters, but when it switched from a green color to gold color no one has bothered to retest it. Everyone over at the oil message board chipped in money to pay close to $1000 to have the green stuff tested.

AMSOIL does indeed have a group III set of oils. The "XL" line. I've managed to sell about none of them because I talk people into switching up to the PAO (group IV) oils.

Keep in mind, if you run synthetics for 3,000 miles....then it is BS!

There's no reason unless you're uber rich to run $6 a quart oil for 3,000 miles. If you can't get past that, then don't use it.

High mileage oils are just wonderful marketing. They take an oil, add a few more detergents/dispersants and IF you're lucky maybe a few esters for seal conditioning and call it "high mileage". I wish I had thought of that.

Well, guess what, synthetics already have superior D/D packages and esters for seal conditioning. Plus they have all their other benefits like extended drains, superior cold weather properties, lower oxidization, higher flash point, lower volatility, etc.

Don't get me started on snake oils either! The ONLY oil additive I fully endorse is www.auto-rx.com It may sound like snake oil, but it works as advertised. I've personally purchased 15 bottles of it and used it on 7 vehicles all with stellar results. I buy enough and refer enough people that Frank gave me a coupon code ARXDD. I rule!

Why Frank makes it:

How well it works:

Terry Dyson is the world's foremost expert on used oil analysis interpretation:

Slick50, Duralube, Lucas oil stabilizer, etc you should steer clear from. As a matter of fact most have had problems with the FTC due to their products not performing as advertised.
