I remember the first one I did, an 89 2d grand am... man I was such a hack. of course in another 10years I'll probably look back and say the same thing again :eyebrows

I started small with wing windows and then rollups on up to backglass. couldnt tell ya what kind of car I started on or which car I did all on my own :lol2 there has been way to many at different shops and different films...its all a blur how I came to be

The first whole car I did by myself was an early nineties Bonnevile. You know, the kind with 4 windows on each side! :lol2:lol:shock

It took about 6 or 7 hours and I'm sure it looked horrible.

My next try was a Mercury Cougar. Remember them ginormous doors? No way could a newbie like me handle those suckers.

It's truly a wonder I stuck with it.

When people say, "that takes a lot of patience," I say, "no, it just takes a lot of determination."

79 Monte Carlo none framed window cut it right to the edge ( it peeled) and also learned not to use a razor blade on a rear window defroster (glad I got that one out of the way) and it was my buddys car and I ended up buying it.

      70% Expel Plus on windshield ripple fix

      Any way to fix a very annoying/dangerous rippling effect on the front windshield without redoing the entire thing? Charms seem to “jump” every so slightly making the driver a little dizzy during driving.

      help arquitectural in Puerto Rico heat

      Hi, new to the forum but a previous lurker. Was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on tints for a business in Puerto Rico who's windows face north (humidity 80% temp 70-100). Main concern is heat reduction though i would like for it to not be super dark since it is a work area. Have not contacted installers yet since I wanted to have some knowledge about products and specs beforehand to make sure im getting what i need. Thank you! From what i've gathered i should look out for: dual reflective film and low absorptive/high solar reflection products used this topic among others for research: "should be a go-to such as: 3M's Night Vision15 or NV25, Vista Film's Dual Reflective18 or DR 28, LLumar's DR15 or DR25 (which closely matches 3M NV), or Madico's Optivision in and around the same number assignment. The numbers assigned to films represent the visible light transmission of the product." "The higher the reflectivity of a film product, the better when dealing with desert heat."

      It looks like the end of the roll was used which has adhesive marks from being attached to the plastic core. You can't use the very end of the film roll.

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!
