Film Cutting Computer

Recommended Posts

This is going to sound stupid I guess, but here goes. :rollin I have only ever hand cut film... I like the quality of doing each one by hand, and the added time is not an issue. Sometimes on simple side windows like SD Fords or whatever I will make a pattern. In the past year I have seen several local shops using a computer and software to cut the film. Do any of you do that and if so, what is the software or company or whatever I need to do so. I'd like to investigate it some, can you point me in the direction? Also, what are your opinions on them? Thanks.

Having never used one nor any of my tinting friends either, you'd wanting to be doing a hell of a lot of one brand of vehicle to make it worthwhile IMO.

I have a mate who has been specialising in Toyota's for years at a new car dealership and he only cuts 2 at a time manually. Never finds it problem but now too many moons have passed for him to get serious about it.

It ain't available downunder to the best of my knowledge either.

Aside to that, when I look at my template holdings, there must be hundreds and auto tinting takes on what is fashionable and "in" at the moment. Some templates sit for years once the car popularity dies off.

Devil.

You were asking about computer cutting, I can tint five to six full cars (4-door) in one day.It takes only about ten min. to cut out all the patterns for one car.I dont know of anyone who can cut them out that fast. The program do's cost alot but it has every car and truck possible plus you can do graphics on it.It will cut from 24" to 46" film. The patterns are very good. The back window is the only one I wont use,it's to heard to line it up for shrinking. For more information call solargard film.

Good luck
