They just did a house last week in Newark DE.

Their crew came by Dover AFB and took a welcome to DE shot from our Flightline. Now you can see what I do at nighttime when your all alseep. :beer

Tint in the day and airplanes at night. :beer

No I was supposed to go up and help paint but decided to spend quality time with my family instead. They painted from 5am to 9am the first day then that night went back for touch ups. He said there was a ton of help there, so I didn't feel guilty dippin out.

Corbit (my friend) said it was amazeing how fast and efficient the house went up. He said that the designers don't actually do any of the work they come out of their trailer walk around with the camera crew, do a little play by play then back to the trailer until the next phase.

The special room that Tye is supposed to be working in is just designed by him that's it. All the labor is done by other people. Corbit said that they used these 10" pine plank boards for the floor that they clear laquered. When the furniture was being moved in the floor wasn't quite dry and got all messed up and had to be redone.

HA how big are the odds ??? I'm just watching the episode where they trash the old house with a monster truck..

I think that was week before last show. Last week it was a wounded Marine that lost his leg in Iraq. I think it was shot in PA. Man it was touching when his buddies showed up in their dress blues. He had four kids, divorced and missing his leg but they hooked up his house especially his garage.

It is definitely cool what they do for the homeowners. If you dont remember, I posted about installing some solar film on every peice of glass on one extreme makeover house nar me over the summer for free to help the new homeowner cope with the high heating/cooling costs. 44tools.com gave me the film for free and I installed it for free. This was of course about a month after the show aired. It was the episode about the marine who helped those port authority officers after 9/11. They even made a movie about it "World Trade Center". Super nice people and It felt good giving back to such a hero. Here is the post:

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..

      Headlight Taillight Vinyl question... (Looking for CHROME)

      I'm looking for a chrome/mirror wrap for headlights/taillights. No NEOchrome, just a mirror or chrome appearance. Looking to spice up a project. Looking for transparent so can see lights thru film. I have looked and can't find what fits the bill. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      I can't win with getting tint decent on the windshield. I had 3M on my F150 done twice and still has major defects. Recently did Stratos twice on my F350 and I see this granular spotted, texture pattern on the tint. It's super obvious in the corner here but also right in my view when driving. It's honestly hard to point out and show someone but when your driving and stuff is moving behind the windshield, it becomes more obvious. The lighting also matters. The first time I did the windshield, I had a two foot line on the windshield. Thinking it was tint, they removed the tint and it was apparently a defect in the Ford windshield. An issue between the laminated glass layers caused this big defect. So they removed the tint, I had Ford replace the windshield on a 2024 F350 but when the tint shop removed the tint, they made a bunch of micro scratches in the front windshield, probably from scrapping the glue off. I told them but I didn't care since Ford was replacing the windshield anyways. So if basically I'm trying to figure out what this texture stuff is and if I should have them replace or remove it. Replacing it might just have different issues but also afraid they will scratch the windshield.

      Need some help

      Never overlook the condition of the floor. Back when I did install, I used to mist the floor between the vehicle and the peel board. This is done between misting the window and walking toward the peel board to mist the pattern liner, peel liner and spray adhesive for install. Tacks any dust for the duration of each pattern install, so repeat each time a pattern is going to be installed.
