I've been trying the wax method. Works really well, but the problem I get is my slip solution just runs off. Not a big deal once I get the film on there, but as I back roll it I get lots of dry spots.

If you have not already tried and if you are using baby shampoo, try a bit more soap in your solution (like 1 drop), I find this sometimes helps to overcome the beading that can occur.

here's a question ,from what I m hearing is that you install ppf over wax :welcome I speend about an hour before my ppf install's removing all the wax ,but that's just me

All you have to remove is the extra wax and the areas where the film edges will be. Stripping all the wax off all the painted surfaces where the film will be is counter productive, potentially damaging and makes film removal unnecessarily difficult. Waxing large areas under the film helps reduce the potential for stretch marks and improves the installers ability to squeegee all the liquid from under the film before it prematurely tacks.

I agree on full hoods and full fenders the spray detailer has solved the S/T marks as you stated.. did not understand it at first..but works well with the full clip installs were more sq. footage is used. It's a must with refinished paint jobs.Great adivise.
