I know I get labeled as a hack for saying this but I always chop off that hard plastic rubber from the rub rail before I reinstall it on E90's (BMW 3 sedan). The slightest bit of dirt gets on it there are scratches galore on the tint once the window has been up and down a few times....

hav'nt cut the plastic, I felt them before I put them back in. :spit
