This can be an issue with all makes and models, in fact the more electronics that newer vehicles contain, the more likely something will eventually go wrong.
I personally worry most about tinting front windshields as we can't always see where our soapy water will end up behind the dash.
UltraVision is the only decent quality with a lifetime warranty. However, $$$$ for a basic film that does not block heat on most of the options. If their dealer pricing was better, we would carry them.
Did you install on the inside or outside? We always install the film on the outside (specially if it's double glass with air or gass between)
If you install on inside it will be to much heat and crack is possible.

Are you certain it's the film and not the actual windshield?
You will not be able to "fix" a ripple in film. If you do remove it inspect the windshield carefully though. Could well be the glass has issues.
