This post is more apt to resinate with the FG guys. Im sure most of you have found yourself on union job sites. Up here in New England there is no "window tinters " union. This has on occasion posed a dicey situation. Most die hard union boys are not really accepting of a "scrub" on the job. I was contacted a while back by the glazers union, they wanted to recruit my co into their grasp. We dont have or want to have anything to do with any glass. We were told that if we were the "first ones in" we would be innondated with union only work. There is alot more to this than I can type, So I am throwing it out to you guys.

I was looking for feedback from others, Weather they run into the same situations. Weather they have been solicited by the glazers unions etc. I had no specific question but im curious as to how others have delt with unionized work.

Cant say I have done any work out there but in the NE we are on union jobs quite often. Like I said it can be somewhat uncomfortable at times.

So do you do the jobs and you are not in a union at all?

Yes, Like I said there are no union tinters per say.The union glass shops that get the original contracts usually get stuck with the film work within the scope of work. At that point they need to find a tinter to do it. Sometimes they try to pawn it off to the sign guys and you can imagine how that turns out. PJF should have some insight on this. PJF you out there ? We are on a gsa job this week and this was on my mind tonight.
