Dosnt sound like vista is the problem. But I guess you could try 7 to fix it.

this is what happen , year and half ago puter hit the ground from off a desk , crashed hard drive . when i replaced it i did not have the disks that came with my puter , they got left behind in a move in what i thought was an empty computer box . so the guy i had install my new hard drive used a vista disc he had . had a couple registry issues then but seemed to clear up and worked great for what i use it for until about 6 months ago and the sound issues started and now have progesively gotten worse ... i'm thinking , new OS, proper key codes and better support and i should be able to straighten it out ...
