I wonder how the whole J&J thing started with tint? its literally the only thing I hear, I thought it may have turned into a generic name for "baby shampoo" but it seems like every is really talking about the actually product.

I use a different brand of baby shampoo and it works fine. Does J&J have a certain formula or ingredient that works really good or something?

I do not use J&J. But I think we should be more concerned with the unknown effects of handling PS and dry adhesive all day every day. Many tinters put the corners of the film in their mouth to peel liners. Has this ever been a issue or tested for potential health issues ?

I would avoid putting film in my mouth, there are other ways to release the liner. Use your fingers, tape, OLFA blade, etc. :twocents

note taken I will quit drinking baby shampoo :lol

You have 16 years in the business think about how much atomized solution you have inhaled? :gasp

Think about it... Contact in your mouth (especially gums) brings things into your bloodstream much faster than shampooing your head.

Seriously, it does seem like everything causes cancer. But why knowingly expose yourself? It the cumulative affect I see here, most tinters who have been installing for any substantial amount of time probably expose themselves to more than they realize.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      All Right cool. I've been practicing with an inexpensive tint I found on amazon. Its called Rockrose. I'm just about ready to make some cards to pass around to get clientele. I've been debating if I should start with Puremax cuz its a lot cheaper or Geoshield cuz of the great quality I've heard of. I'll probably go with Geoshield so I can make it easy on myself and make sure I do great quality work for my customers. Are you already doing doing jobs for customers? If so, did you stop using the Puremax and now only use Geoshield?

      Ghosting week require a smoother, more even and spread out shrink. Look at my old "ryk shrink" using 2 heart guns with an over/under setup. That would be my suggestion.

      Heavy Ghosting - Geoshield "Geo" Line

      Hey all, I am not a pro tinter but more or less just someone who likes to experiment / DIY. Wanted to ask if there was anyone here who has used the Geoshield "Geo" line for automotive purposes? I really like the color, but I get really bad ghosting for anything that requires decent shrinking. The film is specced as architectural, but has a PS adhesive so some use it in auto applications. I sent an email to see if that is the reason why it's for flat glass .. lol This is a sputtered TiN film and has a beautiful color imho. This reminds me of Huper Optik, and not quite sure but I think Johnson had a line called "InsulatIR" that I could never get my hands on to try. The film has a slightly purplish reflection (TiN I guess), when put on green auto glass, filters out and looks super neutral. ❤️ I've had it on my auto for a while but my rear window is a mess when the sun hits it (ghosting) and was curious if this is just not suitable for auto Any info would be appreciated. Skill issue, ie: shrink with lower heat? lol Thanks.

      chameleon window tint good quality

      If you don't mind trying to source some, there is a large Japanese manufacturer that makes a bunch of dichroic - looking films. It might be your style, but it would be hard to get your hands on some. https://www.braintec.co.jp/filmlab/ I believe some of the films do have decent heat-rejection, but because of the nature of the films, looking through them can be really funky. They are well-known in Japan and would likely be of decent quality. Also, very expensive. Depending on where you are, shipping would also be $$$.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      I feel the difference in quality with geoshield. Not only is it easier to peel the liner off but shrinking feels better and I think the material feels slightly thicker(helps with not creasing) Only downside that the price noticeably different. For mainly everything Its atleast another 100 on top of for example stuff from tints Lexen. I haven’t tried solarfree either.
