Installing two layers of dry adhesive film?

Recommended Posts

Because you are dealing with DP, the safest way to deal with it is R&R.

Others have correctly pointed out that the bond strength will be compromised, but the primary concern in my view is damage to those units. While all manufacturers have data on Glass+Film, none of them have data on glass+film+film. There are simply too many combinations and the risk of exceeding the design limits of the glass is substantial. The manufacturer will probably not cover it in the event of breakage or seal failure. I would simply not do it.

If you were dealing with single pane or an interior window and perhaps a PS film, that would be another story. We do advise customers that they can double up given certain circumstances. But in this case, R&R is the way to go.

We installed NS 35, but we've decided to strip it and install NS 25, which is the darkest allowable for the double pane glass. I'd rather not have a broken glass heat case on my hands.

There are 05% films out there which are approved for DP, one of them being our Delta 05%. There are several others.

For severe glare, the darker the better.
