Electronics to watch out for?

We tint BMW's every now and then, and while we haven't had a problem with them.... I'm hoping to get some insight from you guys work on them frequently. I keep reading about watching out for electronics under the deck lid or in the trunk. Does this go for all years/model BMW's? Or does this start after a certain year? Also, I've read that some of you squeegee solution toward the "safe side" of the back glass. What side would that be? Inquiring minds want to know. :D

An easy way to tell if it may be an issue is to look in the trunk and pull back the wheel well covers (they are stiff but they will move) and look for the black box/wire junction looking thing, usually on the passenger side I think.

Treat that thing like it's going to cost 7,000 to replace.
