hi, i just had a question today about a customers dog having the likelyhood of scratching at windows after film is installed. i have film with good scratch coat, but to handle her little pug trying to escape through the window. it wont hold up.

customer stated she will just try to lock the dog down somehow. but i had the thought of using 4 mil window film. ive hacked at my personal vehicle with the seat buckle from inside and have had no sighn of damage.

on the down side the dog would still scratch the outer most layer. even if not reaching any die or color. and leave marks.

Sure clear bra it then when all jacked up take off. Put new one on top of film . Where going to need some DNA. Hope fully keep the dog in one side.So then. You can do one side for them. Worked for the D.PD .k9 cars got 12 of them done . Works great ! Come backs are good

SR coatings won't hold up against dogs scratching them. Tell her the film has a good SR coating but it's not designed for abuse like that. If her dog does too much damage, have her bring it back and charge her for an r&r on any window needing it. The problem with 4mil over top of tint is that it may pull the underlying film off if/when it's removed. A Pug is a tiny dog, but those little feet can flail and move like a featherweight boxer. It may damage both layers, and if that happens the customer might think you are responsible for fixing it since that's what you recommended in the first place. Just my :twocents

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..

      Headlight Taillight Vinyl question... (Looking for CHROME)

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      I can't win with getting tint decent on the windshield. I had 3M on my F150 done twice and still has major defects. Recently did Stratos twice on my F350 and I see this granular spotted, texture pattern on the tint. It's super obvious in the corner here but also right in my view when driving. It's honestly hard to point out and show someone but when your driving and stuff is moving behind the windshield, it becomes more obvious. The lighting also matters. The first time I did the windshield, I had a two foot line on the windshield. Thinking it was tint, they removed the tint and it was apparently a defect in the Ford windshield. An issue between the laminated glass layers caused this big defect. So they removed the tint, I had Ford replace the windshield on a 2024 F350 but when the tint shop removed the tint, they made a bunch of micro scratches in the front windshield, probably from scrapping the glue off. I told them but I didn't care since Ford was replacing the windshield anyways. So if basically I'm trying to figure out what this texture stuff is and if I should have them replace or remove it. Replacing it might just have different issues but also afraid they will scratch the windshield.

      Need some help

      Never overlook the condition of the floor. Back when I did install, I used to mist the floor between the vehicle and the peel board. This is done between misting the window and walking toward the peel board to mist the pattern liner, peel liner and spray adhesive for install. Tacks any dust for the duration of each pattern install, so repeat each time a pattern is going to be installed.
