370z convertible deck lid?

So on the 370z vert there is a factory ppf strip on the part where the top sits on the car. These tend to get pretty beat up and ugly. I've replaced several with the factory piece. this guy wanted to ppf the whole deck lid instead. It has two massive humps behind the headrests so I said no. He said how about just from the bumps back. That is no problem but my concern is how does say Xpel stand up to pressure. The top sits right on it? I don't know what the factory piece is but it shows indentation.

It will hold up just fine. In an effort to keep costs down, the factories typically opt for a grade of film that is actually of a lesser quality than the better film you can buy on the retail market.

Thank you for the reply. Yes the factory stuff isn't the best quality from what i can see. I'm glad you said something because I'm doing it Monday with xpel. The factory strip gets mold and looks rusty so i am hoping this will fix the problem
