2012 Kia optima rear defroster

Hello, We just did a 2012 Kia Optima bout 2 weeks ago and the customer stopped in and said that his top portion of his rear defroster does not work anymore. I thought at first maybe one of my guys unplugged the defroster but once I looked inside its integrated into the glass behind the rear panels that we do not remove to install the tint. Has anyone ever seen this before? I was wondering with the technology today if the car has a feature that only turns the defrost on where it needs to be cause he said the bottom was only fronsted and that is the only part that worked. Any input is appreciated.

Also the same customer says that at night when he drives he gets a "hallow" of circles from headlights behind him. Not sure if this guy is on crazy or this Kia is doing something weird. We do these cars all the time so this is the first I have heard of these concerns. Thanks

The top line may be an antenna, they just never noticed it doesn't heat.

The halo is probably reflection from the film bending around the lines.

Just a stupid question here....if only the bottom part was frosted up, how on earth could you tell if the top was working or not....?

As I just found out is that the top 7 lines are the radio and not the defroster, Thanks again to everyone that chimed in. Great Board!
