Trouble Scraping All The Adhesive Off

Recommended Posts

Guest DougW49

Just went thru the same thing with Madico SB220 removed after ten years.  Easy to remove after a few hours of sweating except one slider.  The adhesive just wouldn't come off.  Madico was no help (surprise).

Carb Cleaner from autozone took it off in seconds!

Things that didn't work: goof off, goo gone, acetone, brush cleaner, ammonia.

Doug, I might check this out. Do you know if Carb Cleaner is safe for the surfaces and areas around the window?

Had a scrape only job with very old (over twenty years old) crappy film above front entrance of an office bldg.

Went in and scraped everything with regular Triumph blades and then went over problem areas again a few times but there is still some adhesive in places on the glass you can see when the sun is shining on the glass - even though you can't feel much or anything if you run your hand over it.

Anyone have any ideas for special solutions or blades that would help?

CARBURATOR CLEANER!!!

Melts glue.  Great for scratched glass!
