ADVICE NEEDED for Residential... V-Kool 55 vs Sunscape MAC4000 vs Hupe

Recommended Posts

Looking for the best film for the following application for Western Facing residence, on lake, with view of landscape. Home has standard vinyl dual pane. Open to any suggestions.

Needs...

reduce Heat

reduce Glare

allow as much visible light in as possible

keep internal light refelction to a minimum to preserve view both day & night

keep colors as natrual as possible

Considering films such as...  V-Kool 55, Sunscape MAC4000, Huper Optik Sech & C70, and open to others.

Thank you for the input & advice!

I really like the MAC films. I think the clarity looking thru them is top notch. The others I've never worked with, so I can't really comment on how they look/perform.

I will say this, which applies to all films... Glare is a direct result of visible light. You won't get any real glare reduction with a film that has a higher then, say, 40-45% VLT. The MAC4000 has a VLT of 47% and glare reduction of 47% according to the spec card I have, which is older so might not be current.

For decent glare reduction I would not go any lighter then that.

Like everything in life, it all comes down to tradeoffs. No one film will do everything, so you'll have to pick what features you want more then others and go from there.

Might not help all that much.. but they are my thoughts. :)
