Install question

Recommended Posts

I installed film on a hood last night and left it overnight in the garage but when i went to go look at it this morning there was a little black hair or something underneath the film. Is it safe to lift this and remove it or is it too late? Also is it recommended to use some kind of air purifier for cleaner to get all the contaminants out of the air during the install? I always do a good job but there's always little issues with airborne contaminants and little Hair.

Should be fine to lift, hopefully its near an edge.

The worse part about getting a bit out from under the film is you can add to the contamination and make things worse.

1/ I'd clean the top of the film

2/ wet the area and your fingers

3/ start pulling up with one hand and keep spraying with the other until you get to the hair.

4/ after removing spray under the film and let the water/gel sit for a while and allow the film to shrink back to its natural size.

5/ spray the top and squeegee back down.

dependant on what films been used is whether you end up with a pull up line.

Don't use any heat until your tucking the edges again.
