oracal 851 high performance 2 mil black vinyl is what he is talking about.

I use it also, you can get it at......http://www.signsupplystore.com/oracal851.asp

this vinyl goes on the insode like tint adn will lay down over the dots and cover them very well.

here is a example of what it looks like on a MUSTANG. it lays down perfectly with minimal effort.

(note to smart azzes, thats cheep paper towell residue on the glass not contamination under the film :dunno)

I do. depends on how close it is to the matrix. if it's close like that mustang, then yes. but if it's like 5 inches away, then no.

Mdog, or tint shop,

What width oracle do you order 12, 15, or 24". Just wondering which one you've found to be more cost efficient? :rollin

24" material like TW. We have made patterns for most of the vehicles we get and cut them on our 24" plotter.

HOT

Say you are doing a cavalier back glass in 20%. Shrink your piece down tight and cut out as if you were going to lay it over the matrix with glue. On the INSIDE place masking tape left to right (with the tape centred) over the last row of matrix OR the top defrost line (which ever you decide to end the tint and start the vinyl). I do the matrix on cav's. Now with the tape there you can see the matrix line clearer. Stand on a tall stool and make your cut smooth. Practice on scraps to get the hang of it. Take that cut piece and make a design for your plotter if you have one OR hand cut it out of vinyl.

Things to remember for hand cutting. FLIP your template ( have release liner touching vinyl ) because that is how vinyl will go on the glass. Tape template to vinyl. Cut as smooth as you can to the bottom of the template. Cut half an inch bigger on the sides and top.

Let the back glass dry or bake in the sun if you can before applying vinyl. Make sure when you place vinyl the glass is not hot!!! Lay down wet.
