Window Tint Question

I had my windows tinted yesterday and now today I have this weird white crystallized substance under the tint. Can’t see it from the inside only the outside. I texted my tint installer and he said it was moisture to give it time to dry out fully. I don’t believe that. Any ideas what it is?

The spots I marked with the red arrows and the others that look like that are water bubbles that could take up to 1 month to dry, depending on the film/location. The rest of the stuff looks like the window is dirty on the outside and needs to be wiped off.

Agree. Looks like a combination of pits in the exterior of the glass, hard water spots and car wax dryed in the pits.

 

Marks in the glass become more appearant after tinting because the film adds contrast and makes the exterior surface easier to observe.

take your fingernail and rub it back and forth across that area on the outside. if you feel something then its on the outside. pics can be deceiving but that looks to be on the outside of the glass.

I did that and don’t feel nothing on the outside.

I sent the pic and and a video of it to my installer and he still says moisture and wait a week for everything to dry and it should clear itself up. If not he will redo the window for free under warranty.

Unfortunately, when we advise clients that the film will take several days to dry (and sometimes more) and that they need not be too concerned about the initial appearance, we quite often get a call the very next day.

We cannot stress enough that it's a normal part of the drying process.

If only the customer would actually listen to what we are saying at times...

How many times has your customer rolled down a freshly tinted window to ask what to clean it with?
