if this was the case of a dead short than since there is speakers in doors why dont they short out head units?

They can / have / do short out head units.....

Before the days of factory baffles us old school installers would cover the top of the door speaker baskets with duct tape to prevent water from running into the voice coils and shorting out...

by the way a voice coil is covered in a resin that would prodect it(the wire coil) as far as it "GETTING WET " messing up a speaker yes its possible......... "NOT A AMP"

as far as a woofer getting wet? there is no posible way it would of fried or distroied the amp........we all get woofers and speakers wet when the tint is applied...I just did a a5 and hed no issues...what is it that it is doing? or is it just not working?

No, windshields are laminated and are manufactured differently, as I dont have a two piece meter, I cant comment on the VLT range of windshields.
