  1. Finally just pulled the front panels on a 12 focus yesterday. I tried a few with panels on and could not avoid 4-6 creases by the mirror. I usually tuck everything, but I'm over fixing creases for over twice as long as it takes to pull a panel. With the panel off I dropped the whole piece in at once and what a difference...not one imperfection! I've been bored tinting the last couple years...taking the panels off made tinting fun again for once!

Also, after pulling one panel I tried to see if that molding by the mirror that connects to the speaker would come off w/o popping the panel and it did.

  2. Just finished one with the flat grey paint.  For the bg I rolled out a 36" roll for the larger rear window and used the scrap for the lower, smaller bg.  For the top bg I aligned  the film pretty close to the top edge, so the bottom scrap piece would be big enough.  After trimming the top bg, you can take the scrap and just turn it "upside down" for the lower bg.  By turning the piece upside down, the top edge of the film will curve the same way as the top of the matrix on the lower bg.  That way the film goes underneath the spoiler easily.

  3. Does anyone know if Classic black and QDP handle the same, as in the thickness and the flexibility of the film?  I've use a lot of global hp and classic, but hardly used any QDP.  I like the classic black, but i don't care much for the thickness and handling of it, but if QDP handles better maybe I'll use it.

  4. That stuff would sell. Just think of all the people you hear from on here that are still using dryer sheets. They would be more likely to switch if something like this was available. I compare this to products like dirt off and armor all cleaner. A lot of us know we can make are own cleaners, but its nice buying a product that was specifically designed for a certain purpose.

If I had just started tinting and had to choose between Tint slime (made for tinting) and J&J baby shampoo (make to clean babies) there is no doubt I would choose Tint Slime.

  5. I have been using it for right out of months now and I have not yet found any junk in my filters. :thumb

Yep and it doesn't make your sprayers all slimly like J&J. The consistency of it is perfect, since its not as thick as J&J making it easy to dispense.

I only have to use 1/8 of an ounce in my poly sprayer! Thats about 1/4 of what I would have to use for J&J.

You guys might as well market something for the back glass, similar to ivory soap, but in the same round canister that car wax comes in with an applicator pad.

  6. There are sooo many shops using suntek, plus all the lowballers on craigslist offer it at prices that I can't touch. Im really thinking about re-branding film as Howard already mentioned.

IMO, sunteks auto film is average, not great, not bad. I also hate how there standard line doensn't last for shiat. I think they keep it like that so they can sell more HP.

Oh yea, I got a call from a potential custy wanting to buy as small amount of film. I said i wouldn't and he said that he already spoke with suntek and they'll sell him full rolls.

  7. I would be curious to know how this compares to the Smoke line it is replacing? Different color, price, construction? Or just a new name? :ppdance

Ive never used the smoke, but the 4%(charcaol hp) had a slight green hue to it. I think it looks to have less of the smoke/grey color to it. As for the price, its just a couple bucks cheaper than the smoke.

  8. Sungard recently added a new line called HP Charcoal. It will replace the smoke series, it comes in 4%, 15, 22, 32, and 38 I think. I sampled the 4%, it shrank decent, handled well, and I got 2 half inch slight creases on a back glass and with 3 seconds of heat, they layed down with one pass, which I really liked. I sample some perform x years back and did'nt like it. So considering that solarmatrix has changes stuff since FTI, I thought I give it a chance.
