  1. X 10 on the "ALWAYS" take pics of the finished product. Even the "boring" ones.

You never know when some tool is gonna break out the leaf blower or a cleaner will "ooops " and toss your film in the trash.

2 years ago a full day of work (Prestige 90) was tossed in the trash by cleaners that thought it was a new kind of protective film on the glass.

God and the GC are the only ones that know why the GC didn't stop them.

GC was really understanding when he got the invoice for 2x install and 1x cleaning up adhesive residue :lol

  2. Do your best to keep the story to the "for Dummies" size..

    I'll start.

Dont ya hate it when your team finishes up a 70 hour install and the clients client shows up at their new building for the first time and blows a gasket because the film installed is 'NOT WHAT WAS APPROVED".

Turns out many samples of various whites were sent out and each one had the film removed by *someone *  so the client ended up looking at and approving A LINER!!! Gee wonder why that didn't match!! :facepalm2

Just keep repeating " I don't pickem....I just stickem" when something seems odd. Eventually you will get to do a huge removal and replacement!!! :money :money

  3. No offense to J+J users. It has lanoline (and probably other things) in it that contribute to gumming  up and spitting out out gobs o goo into your install if you don't clean your gear.

As stated above and in many other threads Dawn and other dish detergents have degreasers in them that contribute to the breakdown of the adhesive.

Why take the risk and add more time doing things other than earning money.

Go get some slip solution made to be slip solution.

Tint slime ,Film on and others will be the best product for the job because they were made to do that job.

  4. Call up all of the local shops that do security film installs. Get their client lists and a skid of bricks and go do some site visits to test out their work :lol

Seriously though there are a ton of great dealer/installers in Fla.

Do call the shops in your area and get quotes for one of your retail locations before committing all your locations to one vendor.

There should be some contacts in this list

  5. Part of the "fun" with hand pumped sprayers is keepin them lubed for long life and filtered on the intake so no boogers end up under your film.

I've always cleaned all the grease out and sprayed WD40 every so OFTEN.

Keep the pump parts out of the sprayer and run a few cycles to release any liquid exess WD40 and put it all back together.

One other thing you can do if sticking with grease for lube is to be sure the pump is fully pulled up when putting back into the tank each time.

Less opportunity for water to get inside and flush out grease into your tank.

  6. Not saying you are wrong. That has not been my experience.

Since moving to estimating I don't get out and slap film around like I used to.  My bottle of slime has not been touched much. Might be a good year and a half since purchase. Its still half full. Looks the same colour.

    No settling .

Not sure what is on your filter. Something in your water? :hmmm

  7. We call them Puck steaks wrapped in bacon. They are usually 1 1/2 to 2" thick

Add some taters baked of course  and peaches and cream corn.

    Add Homer drool AAAAHHHHHH

    As for fast food :

They are gone but the Zesty Steak Melt at Taco Bell

Mc Ronalds used to have a Mediteranean chicken wrap.

    Wendys Chicken Asiago Flatbread

    Oh Look Its lunch time!!!
