NO!   that dude must be on some substance! tinting a vet with a white beater ? seriously ? if you had a corvette would you want someone to blast it in a half hour or someone dressed professional and taking their time ?

used to tint 10 a day ....but I'm kind of slowing down due to the fact I don't really need to work anymore....but im still plugging away and trying not to do anymore than 6 a day...but prefer 2-4  also....do some math .....5 cars a day 6 days a week 52 weeks a year for 37 years ......that is over 57.000

but I do vacation....and yes there is big money in tinting and you ALL know that !

my advise to you fellow tinters:

invest in real estate while you are hard at it ....that way when it comes time to retire you have income...

I pull up, roll out cord for heat gun. tint , clean and wipe down car , get paid and am gone in an hour and 10 mins.....all mobile service....but have been tinting since 1980 and well over 40,000 vehicles tinted, some look good , and some in the past looked like POOP !   can't stand old dirty cars....

but bottom line is: treat customer good , make them happy and you will have a customer for life!  don't worry how fast you are or worry how much money you will make...

thats my motto.

I'm trying to work part time !     been tinting since 1980 and do not need to work anymore but at the same time I am overwhelmed by all my customers !   the only reason I tint is because I have really good accounts and great customers and tinting is not stressful or labor intense.....

I started mobile since 1984 and usually have power nearby , I do carry 300 feet of cords but if there is no power ,or do not feel like running a cord I will torch the tint...I have a few torches , small medium and a large one and ...I use them to heat the bottom of the door glass on certain cars where I think the custy will get in and roll down window after I leave!

torches are faster than the heat gun . thats fo-sho

watching other tinters in a shop back in 1980,,hung out and then was put to work cleaning glass for a big $8.00 an hour !

6 months later owner left and I took over the business....

going to be in Sydney end of January......I should come over for a visit.....I was thinking about moving there in the late 80's to start a tint business......

custy called and he had the tint AND tools!  can I install for him?    sure but my price would be double because it will take me twice as long to do it...then explained that if I gave a carpenter a baby plastic hammer and asked him to come fix something at my house ...think he would ?

I tinted over 40,000 cars since 1980 and my typical customer is less than 1 hour ...using 3M tint ....rare to get a call back....just practice ALOT ! 

love this career!
