  1. Just viewed on TV last night....what a lot of crap! :wall

Talk about disgusting meat market without a brain.:dunno

The shielas were very ordinary (especially the one with the shifted silicone boob job that left a chest crater bigger than the Grand Canyon), and the guy hardly had enough beard to shave.

Only saving grace was the natural geography.

    Won't be suffering it again.

PS. The snakes are children's pythons...totally harmless. They were brought in for the show....it was all staged and was in the papers about it. :bs

  2. ATD,

I've never wetted both sides of the film prior to laying it up on the glass. :rollin Never seen the need to.

Both I do more than mist I can tell you. I've always been amazed how you Yankees often mention just misting glass in previous postings.

I drown the glass and reverse roll it down the pane. Nothing is worse than developing a dry spot and then you are in deep :popcorn trying to move the film.

  3. When using films of 7 ply and up, how do you try to eliminate the tiniest speck under the film turning into a huge rock when covered over by film?

I did some 7 thou today and it looks magnificient but up real close especially from outside, you can see the odd white bubble due to a bit of crap.

Even when totally dry it doesn't go away when hard pressed.

I'm just wondering how you all get on with this inherit niggle associated with the fitting of these films?

  4. I remember couple of years ago I went with my stepdad to do some house windows, the lady there said if we could please take off our shoes! so we did, started working on the windows, this lady had about 20 cats inside the house, the carpet was full of furr all over the place, our socks were full of it, my stepdad being major allergic to cats, was crying and sneezing of all those damn cats. when we were done with the job the lady ask me why  he was full of tears! lol, I told her" that's how much  passion we have towards our work when were done", I was almost peeing my pants! lol :lol

Nothing like a firey devil couldn't sought out tint. :dunno

PS. I've been there done that and can understand everything you've experienced.

  5. Had a guy pestering me to do a quote from early this week. I knew he was going to get another quote.

So I organise to go out today and give him the figure and I'll take both silver and grey reflective 20's in all sizes for heat and glare control...that's what they want.

I get out there and it is a real glare deal...due west glass bright as buggery.

But what I had back at the shop which I didn't pack was a Bekaert RG10 which would do a better job.

I get the nod, do it now but I felt it wrong to not fit up the ideal film which is not with me. So I had to go all the way home, pick up the film and return which killed me an hour and a half. Man I hate that! :thumb But I did get the cheque on completion and they were elated at the result.

But isn't it always the way? The film you don't take is the one needed.

  6. Am I getting sick and tired of giving flat glass quotes all around only to find out by driving past that the job has been done and not a courtesy call to advise I haven't been successful.

It's as if bad manners rule and these arseholes think we have nothing better to do than use up our fuel, our car and our most precious commodity, our time. :rollin

The job was lucky to be 80 sq. ft. :rollin
