  1. Finally just pulled the front panels on a 12 focus yesterday. I tried a few with panels on and could not avoid 4-6 creases by the mirror. I usually tuck everything, but I'm over fixing creases for over twice as long as it takes to pull a panel. With the panel off I dropped the whole piece in at once and what a difference...not one imperfection! I've been bored tinting the last couple years...taking the panels off made tinting fun again for once!

Also, after pulling one panel I tried to see if that molding by the mirror that connects to the speaker would come off w/o popping the panel and it did.

Well done man...so much easier than tucking and you know the job will never come back.

  2. I am a fan of Johnsons Silhouette. I have used it for 12 years now and my mentor for around 20 years. I have seen several vehicles I have done over 10 years ago that look as good as they did the day they were tinted and that is in this tropical Florida climate. It is a little too reflective for some peoples taste. I also like Johnson's Marathon line. its not quite as reflective and matches up better with factory tinted glass. I have all the confidence in the world in Silhouette film after thousands of installs. I cannot comment on the other films listed because I have never used them. Good luck on your decision.

I've used a lot of SP35 in the past and so has a mate of mine and we have found that rear screens due to their exposure angle to the sun have crucified this product leading to redos.

To their credit not once have the local arm of JWF ever not failed in compensation to us tinters. :thumb

  3.  A customer raises concern about their car being driven around while you have it; you suggest that they take note of the odometer on arrival to give them some peace of mind.

One look at the Ferrari and no one dares ever mention anything like that...anything else is a shitter and why would I want to drive theirs to get my rocks off?

But years ago I can recall a guy setting his trip meter to 0.....the car....a new for the time Ford XD 1980 Cartier.

About the only thing of distinction was the name used by Ford under licence. :facepalm2

  4. I've just done the turbo version and it has the rear wiper which is not included on the base model here in OZ.

Much more awkward to do as a result of it.

The turbo's rear big hatch window is also different having more of an exposed glass surface area albeit fractionally larger.

Next time I'll pull the spoiler....great tip to make life easier.
