  1. Just did my first and yes take off the rear spoiler for starters and leave it attached with its hose and electrical lead.

2 small screws on either side which are easily seen and 3 bolts in behind the centre panel.

Film will still be hard to lay it down on the sides however.

Doors... an almost impossible task of removing the internal weatherstrip because the ends of the strip tuck in behind a plastic surround.

Twotint is right about door trim removal and whole surround out if you can manage it.

I left the surrounds in and it made the task at hand a real work load.

Easy sides once on...charge plenty as they are not as easy as the first model.

  2. No different to the stuff we see downunder in this huge sunburnt land. :zzz

But then again none of anyone's crap lasts here to be fair.

Try and imagine what I have to see and put up with everyday and all this gear comes with a lifetime warranty...... if you don't take it out of your box....oh yeah :nc

Devil...sick to the back teeth with this deception. :?

  3. we did a job like that a week ago...about 15 windows 78 x 100.  not PS adhesive though.  that had to have sucked for you  :beer  the only thing in our way were hot tubs and a few neon signs.  with windows that big I backroll the film then do an initial squeegee with one of my brass cleaning squeegees.  then go back and hit it with a blue max.  :lol6

  4. Just did a cold call to a new business off the street I was passing by and walked away in 10 minutes with a $500 order.

The best part was that they had had a quote only this week from another company that never closed the sale. :beer

My film is now on and they are rapt.

Screw expensive Yellow Pages advertising and friggin phone shoppers...I'm done with the bastards.

Nothing beats old fashioned pounding the pavement selling!

  5. Inventory can k!ll you financially if you don't watch it.

I keep JWF's Silhouette 35, Mad's Onyx and Charcool 35, Bek's Quantum 38, Hanita's Astra plus 35, and Suncrap's 35 boomerang for when I want recalls in the future for additional redo work.

In flat I keep 4 and 7 ply Mad clear security in all roll sizes, Mad's white tranlucent in 4', 5' and 6' rolls, Bek's reflective/silver 10 and 20 in all sizes, their Panorama 60 in all sizes, Mad's Sunscape DG 35 series in all rolls, Mad's 220 and 330 silvers in all sizes, Bek's reverse facing grey 20 in all sizes, and a smattering of odd ball stuff not commonly used. eg. Black and whiteout, reflective security etc..

  6. Can't remember as I don't do enough of them.

When I have to, I get the Merc dealer to do them for me.

Service department charges sales department who in turn charges the customer.

In other words, I get them all to work for me and I don't have to pay them and the job becomes taking candy from a baby. :thumb

PS. Have you taken out the screw behind the little airbag insignia panel?

  7. If you are lucky enough to be fairly granted compensation for a film redo, do you have to supply your own material at your cost and not the manufacturers?

One mob here makes you as a tinter bare that cost as well which I reckon is extremely unfair as it was their stuff that failed in the first place. Is this only a downunder try-on?

  8. Ta TP,

They are definately metalised for sure...all of them in my swatch are....I'm certain of it.

But I recall using some of the Starlite SL 280 some time back and it dried up slow exactly like sputtered. I got a call from the customer 2 weeks later saying it had bubbles still in it. That doesn't happen with their traditional line of SRS's etc..
