Hey guys we're a small shop in a small town surrounded by larger demographics. Full on one stop accessory shop from tint, audio, lifts and leveling kits to custom fab work with over 10 years in the field. I've dealt with and tolerated fly by night shops every year that simply fizzle out. But we've got one now standing for about a year. Advertising 4 Door car Ceramic jobs for $125. And entry level Films for as low as $40. This alone makes for a hard time educating customers on the benefits of Ceramic lines and outweighing the cost. But this guy bashes us left and right. Social media. Word of mouth. Goes to the dealerships I service and talk mad sh** to try and get their business. Fake reviews about us. This list goes on!  What the hell do you do with a guy like this?  How do you softly explain to your customers that those $100 jobs ARE NOT Ceramic and most likely aren't even lifetime stable Films?  I've never talked trash about other shops. It's just bad business but I'm at my wits end here!  Any input would help!

I've been using SolarFX carbon and ultra for 2 years... the ultra is a charcoal film and is definitely gonna give you more of a grey/blue hue over the carbon. Carbon has a small tick of greenish brown to it. The ultra matches gms and fords like no other I've seen!

I would check out their whole process and figure out what they are not doing...then offer that to your customers.  I would also find out what film they are using and confirm if they even carry a Ceramic...one option is to send someone in there as a customer and have them ask to see the film.  When you speak to customers, just promote your quality and if they bring up the other shop, just let them know you offer removal service if the tint job doesn't come out as expected.  Another option I would do is (because I can be a dick) is to have someone take a beater car in there to get a ceramic tint job then display that vehicle at your shop showing the quality of the other shop.  Put a sign on it saying this was tinted at my competitors shop.  On sunny days you could even display the lack of heat rejection on their "Ceramic" film assuming they are switching films to a standard dyed.

I wouldn't worry about the other customer trash talking you, it's easier said than done I know.  But your customers know you who you are and the great work that you do.  I am in sales, over the course of time, it will catch up to the other shop and they will shut down.  Also like you said those customers are coming to you to fix their problem from the other shop.  Just bight your tongue for the moment and everything will work out in the long run.  Let me know how it goes.

Figure out a way to give his customers a break when they show up at your door looking for help  offer discounted removals with an upgrade in film from your entry products or for a review that speaks the truth for your present situation.
