family and friends should be understanding of your job. The asshat customer you speak of I don't allow employees to offer the same service in my garage which I operate my business. It's a conflict of interest.

I honestly would be shocked if they allowed a mobile installer to be a dealer, but you never know.  Huper quality is great, but I would do the Autobahn program.  The reason is it adds two films to the lineup...Black and Performa.  Black didn't exist when we were a dealer, but going to assume it is a Color Stable film with a black appearance versus Huper Xtreme having a charcoal appearance.  Performa is a higher performing film that is on the level with several Ceramic films.  Without Autobahn, there is a price gap from Xtreme to Ceramic which makes it harder to upsell IMO.  To really benefit from the film you have to be able install and move their Ceramic line.  Now if you are a newer tinter or never worked with a hard installation film, Huper most likely is not a good choice since you probably will not be able to install their Ceramic line.

3M CS will be a small step up from 3M FX (assuming that is what you have now) in Glare Reduction.  Not sure if it will be a noticeable amount.  Dashboard reflection will probably be about the same.

3M Crystalline. You need an IR film on that windshield not a dyed film. Great clarity and equal to less reflection than glass itself. The 70% will block more heat than that 45% dyed film will ;)

EXACTLY! Thus the reason for my posting about them. I love the idea of saving money and it has paid off for me in the past. But I have also gotten burned by buying film from a New England distributor who swore his film was the latest and greatest out there. Now I am VERY careful before buying from people I don't know. I cannot afford to risk my reputation on someone's "claims". :nono

Well I know they offer a training course and claim to be able to teach someone how to tint in a weekend. I've worked with a "graduate" of this course. He couldn't even clean a window properly. The film he brought back reminded me of Sol-tek. Which was garbage. Personally I'd stick with a name brand or at least one that more than one person can vouch for. Just my

IMO, it is as good as 3M Crystalline in real world experience. One of my cars is tinted in 3M Crystalline 40% all the way around and 50% on the windshield/sunroof. One another vehicle I have the PanaFlex 35% all the way around and 50% on the windshield/sunroof. Both vehicles feel about the same when I get in them and the AC/Heat kicks in extremely fast. It is a millions times easier to install than Crystalline though. IR being important or not, it is still a Ceramic window film that has great heat reduction. Once again, this is opinion only based on my experience.

We do 100%...great quality films. They are refining their line and now down to High Performance (UltraFlex), Color Stable (OmniFlex), Carbon (TerraFlex), and Ceramic IR (Panaflex). Ultra is a pretty standard HP film with a thin layer of metal with no reported interference issues, Omni I would say is better than 3M CS and Llumar ATC, Terra will be a true Carbon film versus Suntek Carbon, and Panaflex is similar to Crystalline but much easier to install.

NewSWtint reacted to DynamicATL in Anyone know where to buy blue/chameleon tint?
Chameleon Window Film is a Chinese film that can be purchased online.  If you run across any actual brand name or distributors of this film, they are just importing from China and slapping a name on it.  Cheapest route is to order from here.  https://www.alibaba.com/showroom/chameleon-car-tint-film.html

I do maybe 1 or 2 a month, everyone else down here seems scared. So I shrink everything wet.
Basically however you set up a 06-13 corvette will work pretty much the same, if you shrink those well you won't have any problems on the shrink. The trick is cutting it very short on the sides, I use the top of the dots as a guide ( looks like your gonna have a lot of daylight) it'll never fit if you cut it normal, also I usually have someone help beside the car once I carry it over and sit down with the film.  It sux if you have a slip up then because you've got quite a bit of time in it by that point! Good Luck
