Dam those  are dirty bottles !

But...are they really all that dirty with all the extra soap that was in them!?😂😂😂 nah but for real I did learn that it only take a few extra minutes to empty them out at the end of the day and rinse every few days. I have always used distilled water and I’m currently switching from Johnson’s baby shampoo to fusion all type. I really like that stuff since I got my ratio figured out and in that case, more isn’t always better for providing more slip.

  2. Yes! Definitely make sure you rinse out your bottles every few days with hot water. I used to let them sit for days and days on end sometimes, use and refill over and over and one day I looked in the bottom and saw a thick coating on the bottom. When you pull the sprayer straw out of the bottle, feel it. I bet you can feel a waxy/texture to it. Basically the same thing is happening on the bottom of the bottle. Sometimes hot water isn’t enough to get rid of it, I had about 6 bottles I had to fill up a quarter of the way and add some JOY dish soap and let soak for 2 days till it broke it down.

With the fusion all type, I used 1/2 oz per gallon per the instructions and it was really slippery. I did the math and added 4 mls of fusion all type to a 1 liter bottle and it slipped a lot better than 8 mls per liter of Joy Non Ultra. Maybe you're adding too much all type and it's having the opposite effect. I hear the complaints in the FB groups about it not working from the people that add 1 oz or more per gallon. Try 4mls per liter/quart.  @tinttexas

Thank you for the info and I kinda thought the same thing so I’ll go ahead and give it a shot tomorrow! Thanks again!!

  4. Alright, went and changed back to the CB09 setting and the cuts are still as good as ever but I have piece of mind knowing it’s pncthe right setting now. Did a banner on a ‘14 wrangler and that baby was dead on!! Very very pleased so far! Now I’ve been getting hammered about doing semi trucks. I do have a Kennworth file and a peterbilt. I’m thinking I’ll have to hand cut the Pete’s due to the cab being different but I’ll have to check into it more to see if the same glass is used. Can’t fit a semi in my shop right now unfortunately so if I do need to hand cut, it’ll have to be a nice day!

If I understand correctly, you should have it set on the CB09 option. We are talking about plotter settings that show up on the screen with force, speed, and condition? If so, that is what you want.

Welcome to the world of plotters...they are great machines for what we do.

Correct, the option on the plotter screen with force, speed, ect. I’ll change it here after bit and see what happens! Thank you!!

  6. I’ve handout many vehicles, I only did a few vehicles in the past then I started to do this evenings/weekends for a few months. I hate hand cutting because I consider myself slow at it but my vinyl express Q42 and Tint Tek showed up the other day and I put it to use today on two trucks. I must say, I’m very pleased and happy with the time and fuss it saves me! I don’t currently have the volume that some shops do since I’m kinds part time at it but I plan to go full time sooner than later and this plotter will definitely make my life a little easier!

  7. Well everyone I got my vinyl express Q42 and my Tint Tek set up last night and put it to use today. So far I love it and it’s cutting awesome! I can easily weed the tint, it’s not cutting through the line side so that’s good, nice clean cuts. I did install the Tint Tek blade into the blue top holder and I’m unsure what “tool” option I need to use. Right now I have it on “other”, force is 14, speed is 15. Anyone have any idea if hats right or not?  It sure if it matters at this point but like I said it’s cutting awesome.

    thank you!

  8. I  first must say I planned to put this under the plotter section but there was no general topic tab. Anyways, I plan to purchase a new tint plotter and software since everything I have done in the past has been hand cutting but I want to speed up the process a little when and where it is needed. My questions is, who is leading the market right now as far as software/plotter packages? I currently use suntek window film, mainly carbon series and have been looking really hard into the tint-tek system. any suggestions?

    Thank you!

  9. Haven’t tried it for the last week or so. I took my vette back up to my personal garage for storage for the winter since I’ve had some steady jobs lined up. Once I catch another small break or slow day I’ll get it back down to the shop and keep at it! I wanna try the ryker shrink method next. I’ve been dry shrinking using dryer sheets but plan to try the soap method since it seems to work easier. I’m just at a loss for as to how to anchor the film for shrinking. I’ve tried the “u” going to the front corners, and the “H”. Maybe just make a straight line across the center and let the sides loose?
