Solar Gard

I learned to tint with LLumar and have been using it for the last 4 1/2 years. I recently started buying solar gard and it shrinks horrible. I know many shops around me that use solar gard and I have seen their work and its good but I am dreading I get a new beetle in the shop or something similar. I don't feel confident at all shen shrinking the film. Any tips? I stopped locking it down on the sides of the "H", instead just pulling the stress with my hand and it seems to work a little better. Anyhow, I know this stuff is possible to shrink anything with And its kinda nice to have a something new to conquer but any tips would sure help

Try lifting the film (about 1/4") off the glass, give it a slight 'pull' it while you heat this help me when I made the switch

Yeah, it's just what you get use to. Either get use to it or switch back.

Solar G. takes a little more heat to shrink than LLu LLu but it will take the heat better. If you burn SG then you are doing something WRONG.

May I suggest dumping that milwaukee heat gun and getting something a little more powerful ?

Stick with Solargard. You'll get used to it. I canned the other film years ago. JMO, of course!

I just switch to SG about a month or two ago and it has takin me a bit to get used to it.but I got it down...like any film wene you switch..it takes time....so trust me you will get use to it...just give it some a chance...and some time...and if you dont get it...go back to what works for you..
