mid 70's thru mid 80's corvette

For the ones that look like a hatchback with vertical defroster lines, but aren't hatchbacks, Has anyone here tinted one, and how did you do it? these look like a humongous pain in the butt.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I've never had the chance to tint one. whenever I tell the owners $225, they leave $20 worth of tire tread on my concrete.

Done one.......royal pain in the azz. Best advice......alot of prayer and yoga. And don't frankenstein it.....back roll those biatches.

well I have done one since I have a 81 vette. It is a beotch esplecially when I put SunGuard on it now it's time to strip and retint.

The method I used was the back roll method.

Definately back roll it, if it is a 79 -82 the seats will lay flat if pushed all the way forward giving you lots of room to work, if it is a 78 you might want to remove one of the seats to give you some room, if you are planning on doing it it one peice it will probably take 2 trys so price it with that it mind. also remove the plastic tray running all the way around the bottem of the rear window.

Funny I just tinted one this weekend and yeah it was a biatch. One pieced it no problem except when you have to lay the film on side it kept curling up on me, but a litlle heat from my heat gun did the trick. Car was so filthy inside. Must have lost a few pounds with all the sweating..

I still prefere doing these in 3 peices ...2 end peices up to the defog lines..1 big peice for the defog area...no hassles..never have them come back from over shrinking over the yrs.
