micro edge?

well im going to try and micro edge on a few windows but I just wanted to know how you guys are doing it? are you waiting till you hang the window before you cut the edge or just leaving the bottom long?

I guess when I think about it, I leave the bottom a little long. Only like a 1/8th of an inch. Then set the edge as I install it.

I've tried a few different ways...the method I'm favoring in looks and comfortability is a slight overlap, then run olfa slightly angled for flush edge, heatgun edge to "cure it " go do something else while it has a chance to cool, come back and run an emery board or bastard file over it to smooth it out.

If my top edge on the pattern comes out nice as it usually does I just install right to the edge, but a few cars I have trouble getting a good edge with, I install leaving a little excess, heat edge let tack then shave or file depending on the car!

how doyou get to the edge of the film that is tucked in the inside the seals on the doors?..

yeah, I always wondered that too, I know frameless can be done that way easily.

TG..most windows shift enough you can get to the ends with the olfa..for the ones you can't , just finish it off with an exacto knife and pointed file

I don't practice this regularily..I'm just getting into it incase it becomes "THE thing " here , but the ones I've done have come out really good

yeah im going to try it but it seems I could do a roll up my regular way in about half the time...it would just be a very small gap
