To the pros

I have 1 of these coming in today

Question 1 : I've read on the other posts that they are plastic gaskets ...will this scratch the tint like the Rams (I'm assuming so...or has your experience showed you otherwise that it won't)

Question 2 : the windows I herd go down a bit when opened...can you "trick them" like other cars that do this by flipping door latch with a screw driver?

thanx for any insight :bingo

Hey TDUBYA!! I do these all the time. Take panels off so you can felt them, while panels are off tint the doors. this way you don't have to worry about trickin the door. no matter what you do, make sure you felt the seals. If its a convert the rear windows need it too :bingo Easy easy car :cool

yes they do have the plastic seals. when I am installing the tint I just push on the glass and slide the tint back behind the seal very easily. you can do it that way if you dont want to take the panel off.

The window does drop a inch or so when the door is opened. just stick your knife or screwdiver in the latch and trip it and it will roll up. when you get it done just remember to pull the door handle on the inside so you can get the latch to go back to its normal open position. on the 3 I have done I have had to stick my knife in the latch thing and give it some help back to its normal open position, its got some real thick clear grease on it and it kinda gets stuck.

Thanks for the advice :cool

Car has been and is now gone.

I took a little of everything offered :rest

I removed 1 torx and 2 screws to pull back panel for easy removal of gasket, then felted it since it came out so easily without pulling the whole panel.

Because the gasket was now out, I didn't have to "trip" the auto drop of the window (but did anyways ) :lol2

I personally prefere the old style to tint (using vinyl) Easier for loading in the back window .

Next time I'll charge more for felting...I threw it in for free because it's not the customer's fault I didn't know it was needed :bingo

Customer is happy in the end ...I'm off to the Beach now with my dog and a few pints in the RV :cool
