Oh yeah, I have some extremely old boxes of film on the shelf that are purple on the roll. I did use this tactic when doing a single window job for a different body shop last summer on a '78 Wrangler that was very purple on all other windows. I didn't feel this guy's '90 something Tahoe was quite bad enough to warrant that though.

I found an old roll of courtolds window film aka lulu just real old,

the liner had fingered all over and it was purple off the roll :whisper

boy I love old film

Even with some of the newer film I have, I have had the liner finger. That only happens if I have a bunch of extra film from a cut-off, and roll it with the liner in. It's like the liner has too much extra stress on it that way and it fingers up in less than a couple days, especially if it's a little wet when I roll it up.
