To tell you the truth, I never get pulled over in my lowriders, I just do my thing cruise slow and low listening to my oldies. Sometimes the cops ask me to hit a switch for them, Its when I'am in my daily driver when it happens.

Three times by the same officer is harassment. You should really get lawyer, call him while they pull you over. I'm sure you can get them on something. You gotta know the law. They used to harass me but I call internal affairs on them quick, if I feel violated.

Dont let them push you around they are not the law, they up hold it.

A lighter tint can still cut out the same levels of UVa and UVb if you pick the right film. Are you allergic to the UV or something else :lol6 I don't understand why you need 20%

I have a feeling there is more to this than you are telling us.

It does not add up that they call in backup for just dark film.

You have never been to Crown Point huh? :D

Yep! Just smart off to one. They'll TRY to hold you there as long as possible. But be familiar with the rules governing a "Terry Stop". If all is in order, they can only detain/hold you long enough to establish your ID. Generally held to be no longer than 5 or 10 min. without probable cause.

Doctors note does mean anything in Texas. You must apply for a certificate from the state.I've only seen one ever. :lol6

Yep! Most states will issue an exemption, one requirement of which is documentation of your condition by a medical specialist liscensed in that state. The Drs letter is NOT an exemption. An exemption is issued by the state.

Just out of curiosity.......what kind of condition (other than skin) would warrant a doctor tint note?
light sensitivity

&

photophobia :spit

scared of light :beer

saw that one here not long ago :lol2

Any number of dermatological, optical, and neurological disorders can warrant a med exemption. The most common of which are LUPUS, Xeroderma Pigmentosum, and any form of skin cancer (even if removed, 'cuz it has a 90% chance of recurrance) Photophobia is a "catch all" term used to classify any hyper-sensitivity to light. Some people get dibilitating migraines triggered by bright light, and is a legit condition for a med ex. What is WRONG are the states in which one cannot get a med ex. That could be fought under the americans with disabilities act.

I have a medex from Mississippi where I reside, my job allows me the opportunity to travel all over the country. The law here doesn't specify how dark the tint can be, mine is 5% all the way around except the windshield of course. I have been stopped many times for my tint, there is nothing the officers can do except issue an invalid tix or allow me to carry on. I always comply with the instructions of the officer, explain that I have amedex, show the officer my medex and I'm gone.

Be safe

Get pulled over here in Ga or Va. (To name a couple states) You ARE GONNA get a ticket if your tint does not comply with state laws here. That even includes med exs issued in other states. Totally unconstitutional, to be sure, but until someone contests it, thats the way it is. Ga and Va law specifically includes "out of state" vehicles, even if the tint complies with the laws of the state of registration.

Thats just how they do things around here, no matter who you are or what you did they always call up back up and the k-9 unit always shows up, I dont really think they call them all the time, nosey but other cops just stopping by, to see who they pulling over,

Do a google search on "Terry Stops". Know your rights, and STAND UP FOR THEM!!!

Bundy,

There are alot of reasons for 20% UV is NOT the only thing about the visible wavelengths that cause damage. :DD

Yeah, I believe in MN you have to get a prescription for tint (not a note....Rx), take that to the state, then some more paper work, etc.

Needless to say I have a lot of people say they're going to do it and haven't had one person present one. LOL.
