so I came to realize ,,, I can't survive doing just tinting....lol I've seen some people doing vinyl body wrapping,,,which im very interested in.

I need to get a source of the vinyl and if anyone has a technique they can share wit me, that' will be very appreciated.

the printing machine runs over 80k, then u may want a laminating machine also. the business is expensive start up. just look into die cut vinyl to start

:cold even a LOW end 30" printer will run you over 10k, and then you still need a hot lam machine, which is another couple k at least.

If you are serious about trying it, I would #1 go to school for it, as it appears to be extremely hard to do full vehicle wraps, and #2 do a few to practice with. First, start with just a plain unprinted wrap vinyl, as it is thinner and more flexible. Then, try a plain vinyl with a laminate on it(still no need for printing) and finally work your way up to a couple pieces of printed, lami'd vinyl. Getting one panel on won't be that bad, but getting the other panel, the hood, etc to line up the pattern will be very tough.

There are numerous companies out there who wholesale printing services, usually for $6-10/ft^2 depending on material and lami, etc

unlike tinting, it is NOT a cheap business to get into, and you can have huge losses in material and time from a messed up piece, unlike tint. Mess up a hood piece, and there goes a few hundred dollars.

most go with a 54" printer and laminating machine. regular vinyls are thin, but printed vinyl is a lil easier to work with because its applied dry with air release technology. to get done thr right way, you print one large piece and stretch it down the whole car. then the panels are cut and edges sealed after.

my local vinyl supplier offers training and digital print service. That really makes it easier to get started. I would look for something similar to that in your own area.

Its best to invest in the designing and just buy the printed vinyl wholesale . You can buy printed and laminated for $5 sq ft easily on the net from a wholesaler . The designing part is the hardest and with a good design up can upsell them to cover more of the printing cost.

      I would go at it with a few chemicals to see what might work and definitely have some steel wool like @Tintguy1980 mentioned. Wouldn't hurt to tape off the edge of the frame and use some plastic sheeting to keep the chems off the paint and rince everything after. Chems I might try: 1. 3m adhesive remover in the red can (not aerosol) 2. Spot Shot 3. Rapid Remover Or maybe just a tablespoon of soap in a bottle of water and a scraper blade. Alcohol won't always do it depending on what the adhesive is polar towards, and can sometimes seem to harden it. If you are BLADING THE GLASS, make a conscious effort to ALWAYS HAVE ONE ARM BEHIND YOUR BACK. Failure to do so can send you to the hospital quickly...this was a tough lesson that I and many others learned the hard way!!!

      Sounds like you just experienced dry adhesive, which chemically forms a bond between glass and adhesive. It is the most successful adhesive for long term visual quality and bond strength (longevity). It IS a real bear to remove at any point after it chemically cures to the glass (usually within 30 days). Lots of blades and elbow grease for sure. My method was to scrape a strip and yank, scrape a strip and yank ... again and again until time to remove the residual adhesive. There are not many 'safe' chemicals that can be used to 'easily' remove it. I do know that a dry adhesive will come away from the surface of glass a little easier when the surface temp is below 40 F. Who has that kind of opportunity other than those in Canada/Alaska type environments. Sad. You can try using 000 or 0000 steel wool in an attempt to remove those marks. Outside of this I cannot remember any others ideas for tackling that.

      Streaks after window tint

      Yeah, dual-pane glazing units can fail at any point in time from day 1 and up. It's rare in the first couple of seasonal cycles, but you never know until it shows itself. Dual and Triple pane systems rely on the seal between glass and spacer. Even there they can have a single seal; glass to spacer, or a double seal that wraps the outer edges and seals (encapsulates) spacer and glass as well. The latter is found in high quality glazing systems. The former brings trouble before its time. The gas or dead air space between the panes has zero to little impact of failure of seals. Once a seal is compromised (for whatever reason), moisture intrusion occurs. It can be visible to the eye when cool and it can be microscopically invisible. What produces the visible lines, smudges, spots, etc. is the desiccant (located in the spacer to absorb any minute moisture). Kind of like the dry packets used in shipping goods. Desiccant gets wet, heats up to vapor from sun exposure, it deposits on the interior of the system and once the sun dries it, you get a number of different aforementioned looks; some obvious, some not so much until film is applied. You can have the one sash replaced, either through warranty based on seal failure or by out of pocket cost. Be sure you let the window folks know the other panes do not display the same as the one in question. They have a tendency to baselessly blame seal failure on applied window film, which our industry has dispelled through long term studies using the 'right' window film for the system. Good luck

      Marks appearing on the window after tint removal

      Hey guys, Hope all is well by your side! Quick question: I went on site to remove a tint that were installed approx 2 years ago. External window film, don't know the brand of that film. Once I came on site and tried to remove the film with pure alcohol and cleaning blades, I struggled a LOT. It took hours for me to remove the adhesive. After the film has been removed, I spotted on the window some kind of weird marks that appeared as you can see on the attached pictures (only a few marks here and there on the glazing). I tried to remove those marks from the glazing without any success... Did someone experienced the same issue and has potential solution to remove those marks? Would it be the film responsible for such issue or, did I miss something during the removal process of the film ? Any piece of advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your support!

      Xpel; rookie (me) popped air pocket and nicked paint

      Thanks, I appreciate the reply. Thinking that between the fact the cut is really small, the film probably recovered over the top, and a tiny bit of paint to seal the margins it should survive our salt seasons. Sound logical? Part of me wants to have the hood redone just to train myself to be more careful, but this is such a small defect and so hard to see I'm leaning towards the very small dab of paint approach.
