I personally would not put medalized film on any newer mercedes.

I would not use metal... and the sides of the door glass is super tight I do them every day have fun :gasp

Its my brother new car. He was visiting from san jose and called me to do it the day he was leaving. I told him that there wan't enough time to do it, especially with pulling the panels. I asked if he want that film I see on many european cars that has more of a silver tone. He said he doesn't like the look of that film and wanted just the basic charcoal/black tone. Im thinking either global qdp or suntek carbon. thanks guys...

Did one yesterday. Alotted myself 2.5 hours, but got it done in only 1.5 hrs. 5 and 80%. Dealer swung it my way. BIG check. Love those!!

Just did an Amg e63 sedan yesterday for one of my D/P's, have to say ...great car, I seriously took 4 hours to do it, bear in mind I spent about 1 1/2 hours researching trims and took alot of time and care doing it, they C0st 160+ with out any option's over in australia and he had the amg pack.. door trim's worth 2 1/2 a piece....... however after spending that much time I found they where simple, pull out window runner's, they do have tight seals but plenty of soap fix's that..... I also put the windows down and ran the heat gun over the moleskin seals quickly to get rid of loose fibres... worked a treat and save's taping up. other wise I did not have to remove one screw.... could do it in 1 1/2 hours next time easy.... man did I stress for the first time though :lol2

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      LLumar, 3M and Solargard have in the industry as far back as the genesis of window film mid-1960's). Solargard is the younger of the three and all others came to play in the last 20 or so years. I've had all three on my vehicles over the years and my current is 3M Crystalline on my Jeep since 2015. It still has stable color, scratch coat is holding strong and impeccable adhesive clarity. Never been garaged. My choice toady would be 3M or LLumar.

      Hook up with Glassy Business and get all the ins and outs of pro vs DIY with window film. That company goes back way before my retirement in 2015. I want to believe they are/were a Vista Film dealer and I cannot remember the owner's name. Peace out.

      Once more thank you, you are the best I been looking at the specs for the products you mention and info into tinting a window. I recently did wrap my wife's car and it turn out really nice, for what I have been seeing tinting a window is similar and I am tempted to do it myself. With that said I can't find any place to buy the products you mention, I found quite a few films in Amazon but they seem sketchy. There is other web sites selling films but the ones you mention I can’t locate, anyhow is there any place where I can buy this products?

      South facing window tint

      Forgot to mention; if your house is under HOA, you may have to check in with them. Some, eh hem, many seemingly shy away from having a reflective look to the glass. A dual reflective with a visible light transmission of 35% (ex: NV35) would likely be more palatable to HOA, but not so happy for the owner. Your position to take with them is: The higher the reflectivity of a film product, the better when dealing with desert heat. There exists a necessary (physics) compromise in every window film transaction. Can't please all parties. Glad I could help educate.
